From the Founder

Greetings, I’m Sensei Mandin, Chief Instructor and Director of Mandin Martial Arts (MMA) Dubai.

My journey in martial arts began over three decades ago, sparked by a deep passion for karate.

As a young immigrant from India, adjusting to life in Dubai in the 1980s, I found that my six hour workdays left me with a lot of spare time. It was during this period, in 1982, that I made a life-changing decision to start karate as a beginner. I trained under the guidance of Sensei Najeem and Sensei Iqbal in Shoryn Ryu Seibukan Karate Do Okinawa, led by Grand Master Zenpo Shimabukuro. Little did I know that this decision would shape the course of my life.

Over the years, my dedication to karate grew, and in 2008, I proudly earned my black belt. By then, martial arts had become not just a hobby, but a lifelong passion.

In the following years, I had the honor of attending numerous seminars and training sessions in Japan and Germany, working with the esteemed Jamal Measara Sensei. These experiences were invaluable in deepening my understanding and refining my skills in martial arts.

Today, I hold the rank of 5th DAN and serve as the Deputy Chief Instructor and Examiner at Shorin Ryu Shorinkai Karate Do in Okinawa, Japan. I am also proud to be a member of the Referee and Judging Panel of the UAE Karate Federation, and an accredited coach with the W.K.F. My martial arts journey has led me to represent both the UAE and Okinawa, Japan, in international tournaments in 2015 and 2018.

Today, I am honored to hold the esteemed rank of 5th DAN and serve as the Deputy Chief Instructor and Examiner at Shorin Ryu Shorinkai Karate Do in Okinawa, Japan. Additionally, I proudly contribute as a member of the Referee and Judging Panel of the UAE Karate Federation, and I am accredited by the W.K.F as a coach. The time and experience I have dedicated to martial arts have allowed me to participate in international tournaments, representing both the UAE and Okinawa, Japan, in 2015 and 2018.

Since 2009, I have been coaching karate students, continuously training to refine my skills and rank. It has been an immense privilege to share the art of karate with students of all ages, guiding them on their own martial arts paths.

Since 2019, I have been honored to be a member of Shorin Ryu Shorin Kai Okinawan Karate Do, under the guidance of Grand Master Keisun Kakinohana, Asian Chief Sensei Sunil Kumar Karnataka, and Shihan Muhamed Faiz, Country Representative of Shorin Ryu Shorin Kai UAE. Our affiliation is with Okinawa Shorinryu Shorin Kai under Traditional Martial Arts (TMA) UAE.

At MMA, we believe in shaping the next generation. We instill values of focus, discipline, and motivation in our students’ skills that help them excel in both martial arts and life.
